Mother and son went to Tokyo and had guide Kasumi create a day tour tailored to their specific wishes, like having lunch in an odd restaurant.
As usual, the guide went to the hotel where the guests were staying. Diana and Niles were ready and waiting at the hotel reception and it was straight off to the beautiful building that houses Tokyo central station to buy IC-cards.
IC-cards are handy tickets when you know you will be traveling a lot by train and bus.
From Tokyo station it is not far to Tokyo Skytree. The sky was rather clear so they could all have a nice view of Tokyo from 450 m up in the blue..
Diana and Niels had said in advance that they wanted to have lunch in a slightly odd place, an unusual restaurant. In Shinjuku there is a ‘catch and eat’ fish restaurant. Before they could sit down to eat, they had to use a small net to catch the fish they wanted prepared by the chef. Apparently flounder was the choice of the day.

The schedule for the day was really full of activities so after lunch it was off at high speed to Shibuya crossing and a Pokemon store. It was very hot (about 35C) and high humidity, so all the walking took a toll.
Diana and Niels on Odaiba island.
The day ended on the artificial island of Odaiba, where they travelled by monorail, a train without a driver. Odaiba is a small island with a lot of entertainment and historical events. The island is a nice place to spend a few hours enjoying yourself. There is, for example, a replica of the Statue of Liberty. And why not see a replica of her when they've already seen Tokyo Tower, a replica of the Eiffel Tower.
The day ended at 18:00 when our guests boarded the train on their way back to their hotel.

Kasumi also guided a family from Stockholm a few weeks later, in October.
